Tonight is the start of the first of the four Big Four drafts: the NFL Draft. The NFL Draft is probably the most well known of the drafts, as ESPN, NFL Network, and practically any website affiliated with the NFL will be watching as teams go after their future stars.
It may come as a surprise, but some of these future stars may get drafted again, or have already been drafted.
Some college football players do end up being drafted to play baseball, in addition to football. Whether they are taken in the late rounds out of high school or early after college, chances are that your favorite team may have taken someone you may already know.
Players like Tom Brady, John Elway, Michael Vick, Russell Wilson, Jake Locker, Colin Kaepernick and Brandon Weeden were once highly touted baseball players who were either taken out of high school or college. They played in the minors, but ultimately left to play the sport they identify the most with.
There are, of course, those highly touted football players who end up switching to baseball. Examples include Josh Fields, Jeff Samardzija and Kyle Parker.
It wlll be interesting to see if any players drafted in the first round end up being taken in the mlb draft as well.
